Has anyone ever failed an ehanced inspection because of a bad CV joint?
Was wondering because I bought my car from Ohio with a salvage TITLE and brought it to PA and they told me I need to get the PA salvage inspection because its from Ohio and I believe I have a bad CV joint. Will they even check it and if they do will they fail me for it?
You can fail an inspection for a torn cv boot.. You can't fail for a cv joint thats clicking though. Depends on the inspector really.

i've heard they are pretty hard *** on inspections in New York tho. the OP is from PA and i've heard they are a little less hard assed about inspections.
i have a friend who moved from PA to NY and her car was ok in PA and not ok in NY. so i really doubt that they would fail you for a bad CV joint... but really just change the [freak]ing axle. its not that hard, and then you dont have to deal with the clicky axle.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Actually nobody has to do the sniffer anymore. 95 and older doesn't have to test anymore so no more rollers and sniffers. obdII cars they just basically pull in plug in to a scanner and check for a CEL.

dude an axle costs like 45 bucks refurb'd after you give them back the core. i'd rather know that my car isnt going to leave me stranded some where because of a jacked up axle.
