my rsr exhaust is in the way of my shifter arms too. especially 4th gear. just pound the pipe a little bit where the shifter arm touches the exhaust.

I bought a 91 hatch and the exhaust rattled bad.. I got under it thinking it was the Cat but the sound was coming from a part of the pipe .. At first I thought a chunk of metal was inside. like a piece from the cat. Looked found nothing.. Frustrated i drilled the pipe to find it has another pipe inside.. (double layer exhaust?)

So I drilled like 25 holes just drilling the outer part and then got my welder and welded the inner pipe to the outer though each hole. Worked great!

Yes, go to a muffler shop or auto parts store and you will be able to find larger bushings for the exhaust hangers.

Do you have a short shifter? If you do changing back to a stock shifter might solve your problem also.gl
