b16 set up
Hi guys, i just bought an ek hatch and want to do a b swap in it. This is what i bought so far, gsr head, b16 bare block with crank. I know b16 blocks suck but i got this one from a friend for 100 bucks n its fresh. I want to do ctr pistons, eagle rods, arp head and rod bolts, ctr cams, and the gsr head shaved to the max. This motor should run like a stock b16b ctr motor right? or maybe a little better? i just wanted opinions from you guys to see if this is worth building....thanks for your input..
i know but i don't want to have to deal with vtec conversion kits and runing oil lines....i rather build a b16 or gsr block and i know i won't find a fresh gsr block for that price anywhere....anyone else?
if you use the ctr pistons on a b16 with a gsr head your looking at about 11.07-1 compression ratio which is pretty good but remember these motors are all high end no torque so i hope your car isnt heavy this is more of a rev friendly motor not high horse power. You can use this link to better help you. http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php
Yea i know the torque numbers with this block would be low but this is a car that ill driving to college and work, not a race car. Reliability is a must but i would also like to have a bit of power and vtec if i want to use it ounce a while. Unless i bump into a b18c1 or b17a1 block for a good price, i guess ill be using this b16 block. 11.07.1 isnt bad compression numbers at all, just a bit above the ctr motor....if anyone else has any opinions let me know...
