Clacking sound when accelerating
Hey people,
I don't know if anyone else had this problem or have posted anything about this before, but if this topic has been posted before I apologize.
I swap engine in my 96 Honda Accord (old one was dying) for about 6-8 months now and I haven't had a problem with it except for the occasional "Check Engine Light" showing up and going away. But now it seems that the light is on permanently and I've started to hear a clacking sound when I accelerate in first gear and also while holding the gas pedal at a steady rate. The sound is not noticeable unless I'm driving on a narrow street with parked cars around and my windows are rolled down. Or when I'm driving close to another car on the street. I hope that someone would be able to help me out with this.
Thx in advance

Hey dude I had the same exact issue and it would drive me nuts. I would hear it but my friends wouldn't. I'm mad ****. This is what you can do. Have a buddy drive your car slowly on a parked street and follow it. Listen for the sound.
I have a 96 accord lx and my problem was that behind the brake disc (rotor) There is a metal plate behind it. It was touching the rotor and making that noise. I just took a crow bar and bent the plate back. Sound stopped. That may be your issue dude.

Oh yeah and go to autozone, have them run the check engine light code. (It's free) They print out the problem on a receipt and then you can see how you want to go about fixing the issue.
