Default Help with harnesses

It would be really good to save the money but I don't want to compromise my safety.

I just rode with that G-Force harness the other day, and honestly it seemed pretty good.

I'm curious to see what others post.

Half price is very intriguing "IF" you don't mind the bigger than life G Force on your shoulders. Might not be as pretty and for sure not as JDM "Bling-Bling!" Felt fine IMHO, but, I know very little about harnesses.

As for getting a harness,,, you shouldn't get one unless you have a cage...

Rob...anyone,
Do you think there is any disadvantage with going with the G-force harnesses?

G-force appear to be latch and link style... which IMO, is a pain in the ***. can't beat the sabelts for the money.

{edit - Never heard of Seabelts..... but i think they'd probably work great in the ocean}

i don't have an integra, or any honda product for that matter. but i do have harnesses. the main price difference in harnesses comes from the type of locking mechanism. there is either the latch (pictured G-Force), or the camlock (pictured Sabelt). all harnesses that are SFI approved will do the job. some are just better than others. kinda like a lexus does the same thing a toyota does, just in a different way. personally, i highly reccommend the camlock setup if you will be using these very frequently. i also cuncur that unless you have a cage, or your sanctioning body requires harnesses, don't use them. think of a rollover. oh yeah, make sure to get 3'' belts, and at least a 4 pt system. none of this 3pt Y-belt BS.

I recommend these:

Schroth 4 pt - $250 (Street and Comp)

Schroth 6 pt - $260 (For competition)

http://www.subesports.com

I assume you have a roll bar or rollcage already.

i got them too, they are great
the main reason why takata is good in japan is because the price is right for japanese market, if u look at the price for other brand in japan, u will see why most JDM car use takata, bride seat and so on.

Pull up? Pull down? I'm assuming that you pull the straps down on the pull down and up on the pull up to adjust the harness?

Im guessing that the pull downs may be more comfortable?

pull down is easier for the shoulder strap.
pull up is easier for the lap belts.

pull-up/down refers to how the lap belt is tightened. yes pull up is easier, but in street cars it can present a problem depending on the mounting points. for me, i had to mount the belts behind the seat, so if i was to get a pull up system, i'd possibly have to reach down by the mounting points to tighten........not possible. so yeah, pull down's are a bit of a pain, but you'll always be able to adjust them from the seat........so that's good.

nice choice btw........i also have 5pt Sparco Camlocks.
