D15B7 Block with a D16Y8 head - What do I need to know?
My girlfriend blew the motor on her 99 civic ex. I went to the junkyard today and found a D15B7, bought it for her, and I'm going to do a mini-me of sorts. I'll be using the D15 block and the good Y8 head from her old motor. Questions:
My friend said that one of the head bolts did not fit properly, so I had to use it from the D15, but I can't find anything about that. Any links to where I can find that information?
Should I use the cam/camgear from the Y8 head? distributor? Timing belt? Head gasket will be for a Y8.
I did a calculation online, which came up with this should be around 11:1 compression with 1.5 liters. What can I expect the power band to look like compared to the stock Y8 motor?
Thanks guys.

You can just copy/paste the link (I put the 2 you mentioned above).
The "URL" tags are for naming it something else, ie.
[*url=http://www.google.com]Google[/url*]
(without the *'s)
It'll be a clickable link to google, but will show up as "Google."
Elsewise you can just copy/paste the link URL..
EDIT:
@ OP:
I forgot to answer your question...or attempt to anyway.
Find somebody that knows about the Y8 (not me) and find out how it gets its oil for VTEC - it gets it in a completely different way than the Z6 does.
For a Z6 head on a B7 mini-me conversion there's a plug in the cylinder block (in between cylinders 2 and 3) that you need to remove b4 dropping the Z6 head on it - this plug is an oil plug, since the blocks for the B7 and Z6 were the same, they all had it, just the B7's had the oil passage plugged up.
On the Y8 to Y7 mini-me conversion though, you don't have to pop out any plugs to get oil up there for VTEC - I'm not sure why, though. I'm not sure if it's because there's a separate connection, or the Y7 doesn't have a blocked passage, or if the Y8 doesn't need oil like the Z6 head does. So find somebody that knows Y8's, and ask them about how the oil gets to the head for VTEC - that'll help you out.
Damn inter-generation mixes O.o.

I quickly browsed through those links and didn't see the head bolt/stud info in there (I likely just missed it). You use 9 bolts from the B7 and 1 from the Y8. The Y8 bolt/stud goes in the back left corner, near the VTEC solenoid.
