you could put coilovers on your stock struts but they would more then likely blow out. i would not reccommend it.

well how much are you looking to spend man? i mean you could go spend about $300 on a set of skunk2 coilovers, and thats without the labor costs as well for installation. but im going through the same situation where i want to lower my car. and instead im going to be spending $800 and im doing the eibach pro-kit springs with some kyb gr-2 struts...and thats With installation too! so id rather spend more and know that im doing it the right way. Just make sure you look around/shop around a lot and see where you can get the best price.

dude...$800 for pro-kit and KYB gr-2s?! you'd spend about the same amount of money on a set of TEIN basics, which would be alot better than a mediocre drop on OE replacement struts.

and to the OP, look in the accord FAQ stickied thread at top. that will answer your question.

yeah but spending $800 on the TEIN basics isnt including labor costs is it? i mean wouldnt i still have to go out and pay someone to put them on for me considering that there is definitely no way i could do a suspension on my own. i mean i dont even know how to.

its not very hard. it may seem intimidating, but go buy a haynes or chiltons manual for about $20-30 and read over it, and look at some walk throughs found here on honda-tech, get a day (or weekend) off from work, and have fun. you'll save money, learn something new, and have the joy, satisfaction, and sense of accomplishment of doing your own work.
