My ED6 with a b20 swap decides to not start today.. No check engine lights.. doesnt crank over.. When i try to start the car all i hear is a humming noise.. Replaced the battery just last week.. Dont really know what the problem is.. any help would be appreciated!

 

is the starter humming? or a relay?

sounds like a relay humming.. or maybe the starter...cant really tell

 

Could be that the bendix on your starter is not engaging the flywheel and just free spinning. Its going to be hard to have a forum diagnose if you don't even know where this noise is coming from.

Find out where the noise is coming from and let us know.

i changed the starter earlier today and its still doing the same thing.. i know for sure that this starter is working... what else can b the problem? before this problem happened my car was stalling out on me... the car would sputter and then shut off from time to time.. it gotten worse this past week and now im left with this problem..

 

any answers?

 

Can you bump start it? Any more onfo on the noise?

 

try to push start it just to see if it will even go.

havent try jump starting it yet.... the noise sounds like a relay humming noise.... i dont know if this mite be a problem but the previous owner had and alarm and remote start on it... i dont have to press the clutch in to start the car becase of the remote start... the alarm does not work as far as i know because the previous owner said he took out the alarm.. so i was wondering if he mite of had ignition kill on it and somehow the alarm got initiated... i dont know..just a guess..

spark, fuel, good voltage to necessary parts?

 

finally found the problem..there was a ground that came loose.. the ground on the transmission..
