Default TPS sensor maxes out at 89%

Hey guys. I just got my ecu set-up to datalog using freelog. I finally got everything working but I have a few questions.

1: My tps shows -8% at idle and 89% at WOT. Will this cause problems? Is it Freelog displaying it incorrectly or could my TPS be off a little. I plan on checking voltage at the tps later.

2: How accurate is the narrowband O2 sensor conversion? I assume its wildly inaccurate. It shows me running very rich just about all the time other than idle.

you will need to measure the voltage with a multimeter to determine if its a TPS problem or not.

narrowband has a very small voltage range, 0-1v with ~.5v being 14.7:1 the target AFR.

i dont know what you mean by conversion. Are you using a wideband in D14 (primary o2 pin) and scaling the voltage? D14 can only see a maximum of approximately 3.88v so a wideband (which is 0-5v) will need to be rescaled so you can get full resolution.

I dont have a wideband. In freelog it is using the stock narrowband to somehow calculate a/f. It gives me readings anywhere from 10 all the way to 17.6 where it cuts out.

At idle it always reads 17.6. Crusing it reads about 12:1 a/f.

well think about that for a second. it can only see a range of 10-20 AFR between 0-1 volts.

this is the graph i meant to post

this graph shows you that once you get richer than 14:1 and leaner than 15:1, the voltage flat lines. When freelog is showing rich, the just means the AFR is less than 14.7:1 and when it shows lean, the AFR is above 14.7:1. There isnt much you can do with a narrowband other than let it do the small adjustments that it was made to do while in closed loop.

trying to get any useable information from datalogging the narrowband is about as useless as the readings you get from the autometer light show.

To fix your tps.. just read the manual on how to adjust the sensor at the throttle body via a voltage meter. It should be .5 volts closed throttle and 4.5 volts WOT.

It is a VERY simple thing to do. The hard part is getting the screws or rivets loose to actually move the sensor.

The only real thing it could cause issues with is fuel cut and fuel resume depending on what software you are using and how it cuts fuel.

ok thanks. So basically the narrowband is useless as i suspected. And the TPS wont affect performance?

My main question was about the accuracy of the freelog tps guage.
