Default another high idle problem

ok so ive been searching honda tech trying to find someone with a similar problem. the only thing i can find is cars with swapped motors. so my problem. I have an 89 crx si, its got the d16a6 and its got an idle problem. when its cold out the problem wasent as bad but lately it dosent matter the outside temp. now when the motor is "cold" or just started it has a slightly high idle which has always been normal for start up. however once i start driving and the motor warms up, every time i put the clutch in the rpms shoot up to about 3000-3500. i use to be able to put my foot under the gas pedal and pull it up and the idle would go down some... now that has stopped working. it use to help when i would grease the throttle cable... now that helps for a short ride (10mins) now it seems like its something mechanical because i was driving home from work tonight and the idle would be high and then just drop off down to normal... then would shoot up again after driving a bit... ive herd alot of things about cleaning the ivac, fitv and pcv... but i dont know what to do at this point because it doesnt seem like any one of those sole symptoms... any more enlightented honda buff know what i should do next? this thing is my DD and i work a job that i cant miss...

i have a problem like that with my 89 civic hb si, d16a6... check out the iacv, clean it, and possibly change your map sensor, its on the firewall just left of your engine, always check you ecu for a code, should have a led light for the ecu, should flash out a code for ya, (3) and (5) should be the map sensor/circuit

I cleaned the iacv and replaced the pcv valve because i had a new one in my parts bin, and the old one was shot... i cleaned out the intake manifold and the iacv and it seems to have fixed my problem for now... lets see how it goes the next few days
