handheld tach testing rpm

handheld tach testing rpm
So i need to hook up a tach to the signal wire and ground. Honda has a special tool/plug that T's into the connector at the distributor.. What do you guys do to hook into that signal wire? Or is there a better connector used for testing that I dont see?
