obd1 o2 wiring question
Hi guys,
My friend sold me his pair of headers for my mini-me. I been starting to wire the o2. I got the obd0 - obd1 conversion harness for the p28 off of phearable and some instructions came with for wiring the o2 sensor. However, two of the o2 wires are black and i dunno which is which.
Here is what the instructions say...
1. connect brown wire (harness) to one of the black wires on o2 sensor (heater control)
2. connect purple (harness) to green o2 sensor wire (o2 ground)
3. connect yellow (harness) to one of the black o2 wires (o2 12V signal)
4. grey harness to white o2 sensor (o2 signal)
So obviously it matters which black wire is which, right? I cannot see either of them working, but somebody please confirm. Should I hold off on soldering these two together, and make sure they work first?

I'm not certain but I don't think it matters. Let me see if I can look through my info here and confirm. You could always just twirl them together temporarily and see if it flys.
Okay... Thanks. Yes please let me know... The instructions from phearable.net do not elicit that there is a certain order, but I want to be sure cause in the end I will be soldering these wires...
As your harness is different the colors will differ but the last page on this link should help you out:
http://www.boomslang.us/obd0_1.pdf
A couple of suggestions though
-Read the whole link if your still not sure.
-O2 sensors can be very temprimental (aka the new one you have may malfunction very quickly...especially if it has been mishandled) you might want to consider some kind of connector instead of hard wiring it. Most 4 wire connectors from a OEM plug will work with a o2 sensor made for a Honda/Acura.
