Default anyone ever remove the motor WO the tranny?

just curious before i yank this thing if i have to do it the factory way and drain the tranny, pull the axles etc. or if there is enough room to slide the clutch off the motor and yank it without doing the tranny business.

In theory it's possible, however it would be an extremely large pain in the ***. Pulling the whole thing is way too easy. I used to pull the motor/tranny for things as simple as timing belt changes.

Its way easier to remove the front suspension remove all the mounts and then jack the car up over the motor and slide it out.

its alot harder to take it from the bottom if you dont know what your doing..Plus you would need some sort of apparatus to hold the engine and tranny on the floor. i did this 2 months ago with a crate dolly and some fabbed up wood. i was able to get the motor in and out but it was really hard to get the car high enough with just jacks to put the motor in.my suggestion is to take the engine and trans at one time through the top with a cherry picker.if you have access to a lift and something to support the motor with wheels on the bottom then take it from the bottom.and to answer the question yes you can just take the motor out without the tranny but its not really that hard to just do both.
