Default Transmission Help

Hey guys umm i bought a 92 integra from a friend recently and he put a vtec engine from probably a 96 integra and wat ive noticed is the car shifts perfect all the way into 5th but get real high rpms at 60mph at probably more than 4000rpm should i get a transmission from the 96 vtec because the car is a 92 or the transmission is right but needs a clutch kit appreciate the help guys!!

Are you sure that the gauges are calibrated properly. Aftermarket gauge faces affect this.

well lets see umm its not aftermarket but the rpm gauge in the dash isnt working could this be connected with me getting high r's while im just cruising in 5th?

You are leaving out a lot of hidden details. Are you sure the speedometer even works correctly?

oh ok i see what you say yeah its funny i noticed it was climbing a bit slow well im going to get that replaced soon so il get back with results.

If the tach/speedo is working correctly and you are running 4K at 60mph, chances are you have a 92-93 GSR cable tranny or more probable a JDM B16A cable tranny. The stock LS tranny would be pushing around 4K at 80mph.
