odometer help!
something appears to be majorly wrong with the odometer in my 96 gs-r, it's going at least 2x the regular speed and I have no idea what's wrong... this really can't be good, I just bought the car recently and I'm not really sure if it happened after or before I bought it, what am I supposed to do about this? I assume if I have it checked out and it gets fixed the car will get a true mileage unknown thing and the car will essentially worth crap?
only thing I can thing of is VSS (vehicle speed sensor) or your gauge is broken.
If you need a replacement gauge let me know, I another cluster from 96 GSR too, I could sell to you if your gauge is broken.

wouldn't the speedometer be off then too though? I'm positive it's correct.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The Speedo and Odometer have different motors I think, so the one on the if you are getting correct Speedo readings but the odometer is haywire, it could be the odometer motor or the gearing for the odometer.
