hey guys
im getting an rsx tommorow and need to take out the engine to change it. i always do it from the bottom on the other hondas. but it looks like RSX's have some kind of subframe on the bottom that wont allow you to do this. is this true?

It's easier to take it out top from my experience. Although I've seen people take it out the bottom together with the subframe.

 

Normally we drop it out the bottom.

Get a factory service manual. Helms.

You should never attempt to do anything without the manual anyways becuase of specific manufacturer specified directions and sequences and torque settings. Of course unless you don't care if you mickey mouse fix everything.

I've only removed them out of the bottom as well. I guess I've only done it five times, so my experience is limited, but it was a lot easier than doing from the top on one of my old friends vehicles.

 

so much easier from the top only thing is that the AC line needs to be disconnected

 

Get the helms. It says to unbolt the subframe and of course take the motor out the bottom as everyone has already recommended.

 

do it from the top, unless u have a lift but then u have 2 worry about that falling on u . do it from the top with a leveling device cuz u have to take it out in an angle. well at least i had 2 on my 05 rsx
