will a cold air intake on a stocker make much of a difference???
^ what he said. You would be just as well off with a warm air...plus, you wont have to worry about hydrolocking your motor.

It'll only sound different if he has a stock exhaust - because the pressure won't be balanced.
If he has an aftermarket exhaust, chances are it's wider, the pressure will be more balanced - you won't hear it again.
EDIT:
@ OP:
You'll think you notice a difference because it'll be a bit louder without the resonator - but you won't actually have a difference.
As the one guy said, throw a K&N drop in filter in there (goes in your stock air box) and call it a day. Thats as much gain as you'll get - and it's not even enough to feel in ur *** dyno - just in ur mind because you know it's there.
I find it very convenient to use a "short ram" intake though - because it's very easy to remove (2 screws just need to be loosened) to have access to that whole side of the engine. Though that's all it does.

Exactly why I said what I did. He asked if it would make a difference on an all stock Civic. My answer fits. But, you're right about both parts
