Will the USDM bulb and connector fit into the type R lens? that's about your only option... looks like the type r ones are single filament and the USDM ones are dual filament. try using the type r lens with the USDM bulb and connector.

JDM corner lights do not have park lights, this is what the third wire/second filament is for. If you can put the USDM socket and bulb in the JDM housing do that, i'm quite sure tehy fit the same, if not your going to have splice on the JDM pigtails and not have park lights (your car may or may not pass inspection without parklights, i'm not sure)

I doubt you'll have any problems with anything melting, that said i can't be held responsible if they do, also if memory serves me correctly JDM corner lights have an amber reflector inside and use a clear bulb while USDM corners use an amber bulb without the reflector.
