2003 honda s2000 f20c misfire
Has anyone had problem with misfire code on cylinder 2 resulting in a loss of compression (140psi). I am the only person that has ever driven this car and I have at no time ever over reved this motor (I drive like a grand dad). This the second time around once at 30000 and now at 75,000. Would you advise repairing the head for the second time or consider an engine swap?
Whoa whoa whoa, "repairing the head for the second time".... You are going to need to tell us more about that one! What do you plugs look like. What are you compression #'s for all 4 cylinders? Have you done a leakdown yet?
The plugs have already been checked they are fine. The valves on cylinder 1 and 2 floated the first time, and honda said that it was driven from 6 to 1 gear, so it was overrevved. That was not possible because it is driven like a grandma (loads of carbon on the cylinder walls), so the service manager went to bat for us and got honda to pay for it. This time on cylinder 2 the valves floated, all cylinders 1,3,4 are 210 or more psi and cylinder 2 is 140 psi. Honda said it was overreved again, but at no time it has happened.

Take it too another dealer! Is the car still under standard warranty or extended?
For one, you have a stock ECU with stock rev limiter so there is no way you over revved the motor. Going from 6th to 1st would destroy your tranny WAY before it would do anything to your motor.

Wow, take it somewhere else man, that stealership is trying to scam you. I hope you misheard them, because I hope you realize how DIFFICULT it is to downshift from 6 to 1...your gears would be grinding so bad, I don't even see how you could slip in there, to overrev.

210,000 and still running.

i have the same problem with my S 1,2,4 is miss fireing when the coil and spark plugs was changed it was ok for a weak than it came back again and now the shop is saying my ECU is reading wrong.. any suggestion?
well when that happened to me they said floated valves, but im not sure i am not an expert at these things. A question though when you are at idle does it sound rough and like you have a slight vaccum leak.
i did the whole s2k misfire thing, i still have a misfire cel for over a year now. I've ignored it, ran test after test, drives fine, good comp, leak down, no cracked retainers, coils, plugs, fine, whatever man.
as far as your case goes, if you actually have mechanical issues, and your dealership already took the head off and doesn't know whats wrong with it. sorry. your getting owned.

We did a leakdown test and it showed that the intake valve was floated, and also the exhaust valve might be floated. So we are getting a JG proseries head for it. So hopefully this will help someone with an s2000 if they encounter anything like this.
