EG flywheel w/EF PP, clutch disk, starter?
Running a z6 block with a z6 (EG) fidanza flywheel, '91 Civic clutch disc, pressure plate, transmission, and starter.
Will this work okay together? Starter will engage the flywheel and everything proper?
And does it matter which starter you use? Nippon Denso or Matsuba? I'm trying a Matsuba and it doesn't seem to want to crank it.
Is the Matsuba from the auto cars? Or are they all the same?

My problem is that it sounds like the starter drive gear is slamming into my flywheel or something.
I started out thinking it was a battery problem because I was hearing the "click". I changed the battery to a known working battery, and also had it hooked to a charger. Still "click". Really loud click.
Changed the starter to a working Mitsuba and also a working Nippon-Denso type, and all of them only "click".
Bypassed my starter switch by going straight from the solenoid to the battery, same "click".
Is my problem that I'm trying to use an EG flywheel? This is the first time I'm trying to start this swap up.

my EG flywheel worked with my 88 tranny and 1990 a6. its the same part number after 1990 as far as aftermarket is concerned.
This blows. I'm using a known-working starter, known working battery, brand new battery cables, and all I get is a "click" whether I'm using the key or jumping the starter manually.
EDIT: Got it working - just needed a ground running from the starter!
to me!
