a b20 is basically a bored LS motor.

its non vtec.

and a b18C1 block is a GSR block.

i dont know what your trying to get at.

you wanna make it a b20? what do you mean?

you can put on either GSR or b16 head but

b16 head + GSR block = poor mans type R
gsr head + gsr block = GSR motor

what kind of HP gains will we get if we bore our LS out to 2.0L and have a 11.5/1 comp. ratio?

it would probably be cheaper and def. easier to just buy a b20 long block

im going all motor. where can i get the sleeves and do you know about how much it costs to have a block relseeved like that? Do you know of any good threads about a b20 build similar to this? I want to use a b16 head on a sleeved b18c1 gsr block bored to b20 size(84-84.5). what type of pistons should i use? is there a type r style high compression piston in this size?

ive been thinking of doing the same, but,it requires a crank and rods from an LS OR B20(to get 2.0L)..you can get your block resleeved and b20 type r pistons at rsmachines.com

use b16b pistons woot woot. high compression motor :]

just search b20vtec or something and you can read up about it.

and yah its cheaper just to get a b20 and sleeve it instead of boring and sleeving a LS motor.

dont buy a b16 head. gsr will give you higher compression. send your block to rs machine.

here is a quote off another website. i am in no way an rs machine rep and if this post is against the rules, mods feel free to delete it.

How is it cheaper if he already has a 1.8 bottom end?

If you already have the block just send it out, you can find 42,086,900 threads on B-series build ups utilizing the search button on your top right.

B20/B18 blocks if they are non-vtec are identical minus the final bore 81x89 vs. 84x89 so take your pick.......if your getting it sleeved it does not matter which one you start with as they will both end up the same in the end.

</TD></TR></TABLE> correct but the ref in cali does not see it the same. if he wants a legal 2.0 b series, the b18 has to be sleeved and bored. the b20 is not an option.

You need to rethink your statement. How will the price be cheaper to buy and resleeve a B20 vs. buying and resleeving an LS. It would be cheaper for the OP to keep his GSR block, sleeve it, bore to 84mm and slap a vtec head on there. That saves him money from having to buy another block and from buying a LSvtec kit as well.
