just finished dropping in a obd 1 gsr motor into an eg and everything went fine until the car threw up a 23 engine code which i believe is knock senor. please let me know how and what i need to fix this problem. its the only code that its throwing up. im gonna be taking this to the ca. state ref to get the swap legalized.

 

replace the knock sensor then clear the codes again .

but how do i know that the knock sensor is bad? i dont want to reaplace it and find out that nothing is wrong with the old one. thanks for your help

 

did you wire the knock sensor you have to run a wire from the red with a blue stripe on the pass side engine harness to the ecu civic 's arent wired for knock go hybrid honda and find out what spot the knock sensor goes to it in the b plug i think its b3 you have to pin it in and then clear the cods and you should be fine

 

check the wiring diagrams at hybridgarage.com. You did run wires right?

 

It should be wire B6 to KS to a ground.

but does anyone know what to use if you don't have the harness connector for the KS ?

 

well to what you are explaining there is a wire already in that spot that you explained? im so confused now.

 

how do you incorporate a ground wire to a plug that only has one wire? do you have a diaghram of this or can you tell me? id like to give it a try and see if it works.

 

The older KS's have only one wire... my friend's GSR hybrid and my G/F's GSR both are 94 motors and have 1 wire... I am assuming this is a self grounding KS. The KS that I have (not on car yet) is a 2 pin KS... prolly not self grounding.

 

so should i look into getn a ks with 2 wires? or do you think i shoud replace the one i have?

 

I believe the 1 and 2 wires work the same, but if you have a single wire and want to replace it, I would say replace with the same one...
