You get what you pay for but I'll try to be helpful.

It's a typical cast piston with a p30 dome. What spec are you looking for? PTW, ring gap, CR....

Yaaah. I think the clown just forgot to put the sheet back in there, but whatev. If i was building something nice it would not have cast pistons in it anyhow. this is just some junk, but id like it to run alright at least.

.0010-.0012 piston to wall ok?

this motor will probably see a 50 shot of spray sometime, so i may run it towards .0012

Piston mic'd out to 3.227 though...

far as the ring gap, im pretty sure the rings are pre gapped but any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks for the response brother...(p.s. Wong (B18c1 powered si) in your sig is a friend of mine)

.0012" is way too small, NA. 0.0032" is a more of what I would run with a shot of nitrous.

I wish Brian were still around. We need more members like him.

isnt .002 the max honda recomends on factory cast pistons? if its just a occasional small shot then i would think .001-.0015 would be fine.
marcel was probably thinking of forged pistons when he seen 82mm pistons

Factory is 1 thing, Nitrous is another. That is why there is another forum for that crap. .0015 is a good number add some nitrous and I will give you a quote to rebuild it. Keeps my shop alive. But.but. but it was only a 50 shot. Why did my pistons melt?

Forget the nitrous garbage. just rebuilt with the pistons. what clearances do you suggest for piston to wall. .0012 is too small?

Sorry, I had doubled my number. It should be 0.0016" or like Don said.

No, 0.0012" is not too small.

I would give myself .0004" to .0005" clearance because of nitrous.

I would ask for 0.0016".
