Default What is holding your shift boot up?

My shift boot is sagging - Is there a fix? What was used from the factory to hold it up? Viagra?

I am one of those picky bastards that can't stand a saggy shift boot.

I have a B&M short shifter and it goes from thin to fat so it doesn't sag anymore.

Before I would get around 5 rubber bands and make a rubber ring around the shifter shaft. Then I would slide the boot/center console over it and the rubber bands would hold it up. This only works if your boot has that plastic ring at the top of the boot. I know some boots don't have it.

Now I just need to find some rubber bands. Clever...

Yup, rubber bands or zip ties and even tape in some cases will work.

I got one... Use a hair band/what ever you want to call it. Just keep looking for the right color. I sport a blue one!

From the factory they have a little plastic insert that fit's in there. Mine broke two days after I got my car. But it lasted 16 years.

Go to Home Depot/Lowes to the plumbing section and get an o ring that will fit snug on the shift rod and hold up the boot.
