Default Weird squeeking noise...

I have been dealing with this weird squeeking noise on my car for awhile. The noise increases as the speed increases as well from what I have seen, but when I press in my clutch it goes away. It didnt happen until my alternator belt broke on me and I got it replaced.

I thought it was the belts before so I made sure they were tight and sprayed wd-40 on them as well and the noise is still there. Is it possible that the alternator could be damaged from when the belt broke? I havent gotten a chance to take it out and take a look at it, but the thing that is weird to me is when I press in the clutch even a little bit, the noise will stop.

Is this something normal with an alternator issue, or does this just sound like something entirely different?

sounds like your throw out bearing...i think the belt was just coincidental...never spray wd40 on your belts it can cause them to slip they make belt polish for sqeaky belts....if you car isnt dying and it seems to start fine than i would say your alternator is holding charge....is the sound coming from the alternator side or the clutch side?

Its kinda hard to tell, but I think its on the alternator side. Is there an easy way to check if it was the throwout bearing?

Because when I was getting the engine swaped, I did get a clutch installed but it sounded fine until the belt snapped so I didnt suspect anything clutch related.

I know I replaced the belts AND the shop replaced the belts as well after I told them what was going on and it does hold charge well.

The thing about the bearing though I thought you would hear it when the clutch is pressed in? My issue is when I PRESS it in the sound goes away..

i've heard so many diferent stories about TOB and it can happen when the clutch is in and out....its possible the alternator isnt sittin right and the belt isnt seating properly...what was the outcome on why the belt snapped to begin with? nick in the pulley?

I know how you feel about the squeeking sound bro. It bugs the hell out of me because it's embarassing dipping around in a nice lookin teg that squeeks and turns heads. I would suggest to try to locate the area the squeeking sound is occuring. Tranny or alternator side. You mentioned the squeek goes away when you press the clutch pedal down. That would lead me to believe your throw out bearing is gone or it's transmission related.

If the squeek occurs while your at a standstill try your best to narrow it down. I recently fixed an annoying squeeking sound coming from my brakes since the 12mm bolt that holds the bottom caliper down was MISSING.

Goodluck

I believe the old belt was worn and it just gave I suppose it wont hurt to take out the alternator and make sure its in correctly. I was thinking it COULD be the TOB, but I didnt really want to drop the tranny and all the **** that goes with that =/

Either way ill have to look into it more, but I am pretty sure it is the TOB since we have done EVERYTHING to that stupid alternator and it just shouldnt be going away when I put pressure on the clutch pedal..
