Default which ecu would be best?!?!

i posted this in tech but no one answered so maybe you guys have some ideas...

ok, so i have the 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC ZC OBDI (possibly from a 93-95 integra zx or similar) anyways just the block was swapped, everything else (tranny, IM, ECU,...) is stock from my EJ2 (d15b7).

I was thinking that i could probably get better performance, gas milage, etc if I had the engine paired up with a proper ECU (instead of the current P06). I did a bit of research and found a lot for OBD0 zc's (because their basically d16a6's) but I was wondering if anyone knew which ECU would be best for mine. I found the p29 and p76 that could potentially be good candidates but the only problem is i don't know where i can get one of these.

So, if anyone had any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Also, could i get the ecu tuned or base-mapped instead?

they are certainly not on the normal list of ECUs, but they are out there.

Personally I'd find a tuner in your area, have them chip your P06 with the P29 maps (available on pgmfi.org) and do a good street tune on it.

Thats supposed to be the correct ECU for your engine, supposedly came out of a '94 - '95 JDM integra. The P29 is as far as i can tell for the OBD1 DOHC ZC. I did quite a bit of research on that one time, a friend of mine picked one up used quite cheap when he blew his D15B7, it didn't come with an ECU and he was pretty broke at the time so he ran it off a P06. My suggestion would be run P76 maps on a P06.

thanks, i'll check it out...

the real question is: is it even worth it? I don't know how much a tune costs or a remap, but will i see a significant change, whether it be in mileage or power?

Your unlikely to see any noticable difference at all. In all likelyhood not worth bothering with. I just realized though you live in montreal so you have a pretty decent chance of actually finding an ECU. Theres a ton of importers in montreal, pretty much everything JDM on the east coast comes from there.

I have yet to call any importers, but i know there are alot around here, but i found a tuning garage that said they could put the p29 or p76 basemapping on my p06 for 120$ CAD, don't know if its worth it? what do you guys think?

I had an "HRED" map for D15B7 if you want.

Work really great here (France)
