Default Transmission Question For The Major Built Engines.

im currently building my engine for about 500whp on a b18c1 engine, and i was wondering what the people with high hp were doing for trannys..will they hold stock (i know aftermarket clutch is needed) but im talking about the gearing and lsd itself.

thanks in advance

With that low hp # a stock tranny will hold up fine. It's the torque # you need to worry about. Again, with the low # you'll be making you'll be fine.

You may want to look into better axles.

Check out the drag racing forum. The guy's with the 700+whp are still using OEM gear sets.

It is more about the entire setup than just the power number. 500whp is enough to shred teeth off of gears or the final drive.
