Default Tranny modifications for high HP FI

Hi,

I have a civic with estimate 400-450 whp. The tranny is an orginal b16a2 hydro tranny(y21).
I have an fidanzia flywheel and dual diaphram proclutch.

I'm going to drag race with the car. I want to know what i can do with my tranny and which slicks are good. I'm driving with 7 psi now and have no traction. Do you people(with high hp/drag cars) think?

I'm planning using the following:
DSS or gator axles
Qauife LSD

Thanks for the answers/comments. CJ

From what I have heard from friends and read on this board I would look into DSS axles, since gator axles have been known to break. Good choice going with a Quaife and as far as the clutch you might want to search around for high horsepower setups and see what they are running.

I already have a pretty good clutch.
The problem i think is gear ratios and short gears

http://www.gearspeed.com has a lot of transmission stuff. You can buy a complete race transmission or you can buy seperate parts.

your goin to need a twin disc for that amount of power. i perfer the gator axles never had a problem with them your goin to need 24.5x8 slick atleast. lsd would be good. not much you can do to the tranny its self other than the ring and pinon.
a good aliment will help out in not breaking tranny parts

I have a set of SAENZ gearset. Ratios are little different from stock, and can handle over 1000hp. They are straight cut gears, so they whine when you drive. I have my tranny down there now (FL) for rebuilding which they are doing free of charge for buying their gearset. REasonably priced being you should never have to replace anything......

Twin disk is over kill for that hp. There are serveral companies that make 6 puck unsprung clutches that will hold 600 whp.

Nice to know that. I'll keep it in mind. But regarding the gears. Think we have to do something?

yea I can understand that....it would be nice but its not required....my clutch masters stage 5 isnt holding very well against 650 plus...I believe they are rated by torque not power tho...and im only make around 420 trq
