cluster swapping?
im new to the honda world, ive always been a VW driver but i needed a reliable daily for school so i got my hands on a clean 1996 civic 5 spd, im pretty sure its base model figuring the cluster doesnt have a tachometer on it, so my questiong was if i found an si cluster or cluster with a tach from the same year/body style would it work?

Yes, its all plug and play. You can swap the speedometer head too and retain your original mileage.

If memory serves me correctly the LX also has a tach, but the redline is lower than the EX, which is fine since its actually matched to the engine you have. Here in Canada there was an option package that among other things gave you the cluster with tach on the CX hatchback.

All '96 - '00 civics could be had as a manual, not all were available as an automatic though.
