Default Cluster question

Is the speedometer interchangable within 96-00 clusters? Not the whole cluster itself just where the speedometer is and where it tells you the miles. I tried matching my miles to my engine off a beat cluster and got it where I wanted it but now the miles won't change. Speedometer works though. Make sense? My question is can I buy another cluster and just interchange the speedometer from the 4 little screws in the back and then into the same cluster or does that not work?

Yes, any 96-00 cluster, even the crappy ones with no tach.

Honda prewires all car cluster wiring for every option so if you have no tach it's still prewired for a tach. All plug and play

Not every option, but the tach, yes. OP wants to know about the speedo anyway, not tach.

What options are you referring to?

I must've gotten lucky goon from my fx cluster with no tach to a cluster with literally every option and they all work

Upshift, cruise, ABS ... these are not all pre-wired on every dash harness if the car did not get the feature originally. Tach yes, though.

I should've been more specific as in all gauges are prewired regardless of assortment. I wasn't referring to the lights within the cluster.
