Best drop springs
I got a couple. This was on smaller tires as I was going to install my Tein SS and slam it. The tires were 195/50-15 thats why theres still a fender gap.
Also, keep in mind that my OEM lip and Mugen replica lip both got riped off on speed bumps if thats any refrence.

When I first installed the springs, before any settle or sag on 195/65R15

heres another refrence. If you scroll down, you will see a pic of my car, and my friend rod (silver cb7 with JDM bumper) nose to nose. I am on 185/65/15 snows and my skunk2's he is on the same size tire, but Tein S tech springs. as you can see, my nose is lower, but he still has the lip so it looks lower.

I am running the tanabe dress-up form springs on my cd5 love them. They drop the car 2 inches all around and handles great and rides good and comfortable. I also have agx shocks.

@ JDM_DC4_Fanatic: would the tein be lower than skunk2 and tanabe? Not trying to go too low but low enuff. I am planning on running 205/45-17 tires
@deeweezy187: do you have any pics?

Well, I know first hand that my skunk2's are lower then Tein S tech, as you can see in the link I posted. Silver cb7 is on teins, my black one is on skunks.
As for the tanabe, I have no clue. I have never seen them in person, nor do I know anybody, even in the accord club that is running tanabe.
If I were you, I would just get a basic adjustable set up. Something along the lines of tein basic, or Skunk2 coilover combo. They can be had on ebay for about 4-500 and it will give you the freedom to adjust height for diffrent tire set ups and stuff. I cant say anything good or bad about tanabe, but my assumption is its not popular for some reason?

What would happen if I use struts like kyb with regular shafts compared to skunk2 shorter shafts. Would they bow or leak quickly? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the shortened length of the Skunk2 struts?
I know you want opinions, so this tread is somewhat useful, but if more people contributed to the Suspension picture tread in the FAQ, people would have a better idea of what they want. Please post up your pictures and setup to the suspension tread. You can post it here too, but please build the suspension tread more. I like seeing useful information about springs just as much as the next guy.

regular length shocks will bottom out more often, and by bottom out, I dont mean the car hitting the ground, I mean the piston of the shock reaching maximum downward travel. This creates alot of heat and air bubbles which kill the shock, thats why you need "performance" shocks when you lower your car past a certin point. The skunk2 springs require performance shocks, where as tein s tech are designed to use OEM or after market.
Short shaft shocks are also wider in diameter so they can have the same dampening if not moreso then a full length shock.
ETA: I have a canadian EX-R, which is the same as an EX in the US. I know for a fact that the shocks will fit. The shocks and springs have the same FITMENT from 90-97. However, 4th and 5th gens sit diffrently. I had to get my car inspected, and I pitched my OEM suspension, so I borrowed the stock suspension from my friends 5th gen, and the car sat higher then it did on stock 4th gen suspension, so watch out for that.

rediculously low, look at it next to my cell phone

i think they previous owner installed civic coilovers, the struts bottom out and barely makes contact with the coilover
Very bouncy, I refuse to drive fast to find out how it handles at speed
thanks for moving the thread, but is there a way for it to be on the section it was in before as well? I think more people might respond if it showed up as a recent thread in the normal section too, just my opinion.
Would the ground control work well with skunk2 struts? Will it also work well with oem spec struts? Tired of being bouncy

realistically, anything more then a 1" drop is going to kill OEM struts. If you want to lower your car, its a MUST to upgrade the shocks. As far as aftermarket shocks go, you should pick them based on what you plan to do with the car.
If you plan to just have a nice looking, better handling ride, then NON adjustable after market shocks are ok, tokico blues are a perfect example, and not much money.
However, if you plan to do aggressive driving, or occasional AutoX, I would suggest a slightly better adjustable shock. Koni Reds fit the bill perfectly, only problem being, they are INTERNALLY adjustable, which means to change the damper rate, you need to take them out, however if you only track a few times a year, it may be practical to save the money from buying Koni Yellows(common favorite). Other good choices would be Skunk2, Tokico Illumina, or KYB AGX.
I could fill this whole thread with all kinds of diffrent set ups, and why you should get them etc, but at the end of the day, its your car, you are gonna be driving it, so you should be honest and think about what YOU want from the car. You will get better results that way.

i will pick whichever most people consider to be very good. I am really trying to avoid pickin something to do have switch again. So far it looks like ground control makes the best coilovers. I really only have experience with drop spings so i am new at this coilover setups. Just prefer not to have a bouncy ride as i said b4.
From the pick skunk2 springs look kinda low, tein seems a little high. Ground control are coilover so they will be whatever height i choose.
For struts so far I was looking at KYB AGX, tokico illumina, or Skunk2. Koni seems a little out there in price. I want a smooth nice cornering ride
How about some info on damper kits as well. thanx

Bouncing isnt because of the springs. Shock absorbers are suspension dampers.
So, when you go over a bump, the shocks job is to "dampen" the bounce of the spring. So, when someone says "ground controls" are bouncy, they have the wrong shocks paired with it.
Koni Yellows and Ground Controls are the classic "full coilover" substitute. However, failing that due to mostly price, AGX + ground controls are a good combo as well, and not as hard on the wallet.
