obd-0 to 0bd-1 dont want vtec though Questions
wondering if i can convert my sohc zc to obd-1 without doin a mini me head swap. I know i need a 4 wire o2 sensor its the dizzy im concerned about. Can i use a obd 1 dizzy on my sohc zc head or will my obd 0 dizzy work and if i do go obd1 what dizzy do i get. thanks
yes you can.. you are going to need a new distributor for that, because the ecu is going to expect the obd1/obd2 style signal from the distributor. you also will need to decide what injectors to use and wire it accordingly.
92-95 LX or DX distributor should solve your problem
I have a set of obd1 injectors going on ebay right now if your interested in them shoot me a pm

Mini me swap has nothing to do with obd's. Mini me swap is putting a vtec head on a non vtec block sohc. You can stay obd0 and do that if you run a rpm activated switch to engage the vtec such as a msd switch or even a tach.
To go obd1 you have to switch over to obd1 injectors and injector plugs period.

no i am very sure that you dont have to convert your injectors to obd1 to run an obd1 system in ur car i have owned a swapped car before that has had obd0 injectors with a full z6 swap so i know that u dont have to have obd1 injectors i just needed to know if i could use an obd1 distributor on an a6 head if it would bolt up.?

you absolutly do NOT need to convert to obd1 injectors if you don't want to. Staying with the obd0 injectors and keeping the resistor box will work just fine with the obd1 computer. it won't know the difference, and it saves you some wiring.
I think the obd1 d series distributor doesn't fit quite right on the head casting of the sohc zc.. you can saw off or dremel out one of the legs on the distributor so it "fits", but its not optimal. I think an OBD2 distributor fits more stock like, and uses the correct sensors for the obd1 computer, but i am not 100% sure on that.

Now while a lot of people gave you the ways to do it I have to ask why? I really dont see the point in going obd-1 if you arent going to run vtec? Is there some other performance mods that you are planning or just want to run obd-1?

Yeah thats why I asked if he had other performance mods he was going to run I guess just curiosity!

yes i am planning on boosting my sohc zc hatch next summer but i dont want to throw a vtec head on yet as i have heard it will bump up compression so i just want to go obd1 for tuning purposes
OK makes sense and you heard correct putting a Z6 head on a A6 (or ZC in your case but same block) does bump up the comp.
