Vortech GSR--14.9@96.8mph ????
Did anyone catch it on the June/July issue of Honda Tuning mag. GSR with a Vortech supercharger.
They pumped out 245 whp and 161 lb/ft or torque
Nice, but did you see their e.t. --->14.9@96.8 mph
They claim 80,000 miles on the unit and still going strong...pretty reliable.

yeah...couldn't believe it...thought it should do better. someone posted a thread about 2wks ago discusing same article...you might want to check it out. sorry, don't have link available.
so with no traction the best trap they could get was 96mph? I think not....I think someone just sucks at driving......that hp figure should run somewhere in the 13.3 range....my friends old turbo si ran 13.1 with about the same hp figures....
does a stereo take a full 1.5 seconds off your time? come on....look at the peak hp rpm....you shift and you are out of the power....you would need to see the whole dyno sheet to see just how "great" this system is
Give me that car and a pair of 22x9.5x13 m&h's and I will make sure that car goes 12's. The funny thing is, when I was at e-town at the past import event, after winning 2nd place in a hybrid all motor class with my friends car I walked over to the super street/turbo tent to talk to the authors of these articles. After telling them about putting some real cars in the magazine they didnt get my hint, so I told them that I thought it was pathetic to write an article about a gsr with a vortech going high 14's. One of the guys that works for sport compact responded: "BUT ITS A DAILY DRIVER". I was like so what, most of my friends got daily driven integra's and civics going 12's to 13's all motor. I didnt really want to bust the guys ***** too much, but they really need to be careful what they write, because now the just ruined the name for vortech to the whole world.
By the way, I am not a strong believer of sc's but I am sure that gsr can go 13's easy with a better driver.

Ya, the article did say that they had traction problems, 80k on the odo, heavy stereo, and I think the owner of the car was driving it(or maybe it was vortech's). Even under all of those conditions you think you could pull off a little lower time. I am guessing the driver plain out sucked...
for the traps to be that low it would have had to spin the whole way down the track.....as for stereo that will not take off a second and the car is vortechs....the 80,000 miles means nothin cause the Hp numbers are there

my friend ran a 13.8 in his jackson racing supercharged gsr with stock motor other than the charger, comptech exhaust, and aem. He even had stock 94 gsr tires. . .
Sport Compact Rice can't drive, period.
they somehow managed to get 2.5s+ 60ft times with a stock newer Sentra SE 5spd they stripped down a while ago (the worse being 2.9s).
