Default 15psi = 15psi??

Just wondering if 15 psi on a t3 turbo is equivalent to 15 psi on a t3/t4.

15psi is 15psi.

but there is more to it. You need flow as well as pressure.

15psi of hot, less dense air is less useful than 15psi of cold dense air hehe

I ask this because my concerns are that I will running a t3 from a merkur and it has an ar of .60. Furthermore, it's gated at 15 psi, but I'm counting on a 2-3 psi pressure drop from my intercooler. but still this will be pretty high boost. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to alter the internal wastegate (like extending the actuator arm) or any other way to reduce the amount of psi that it will produce. So let's say that it will produce 12 psi, will this sort of pressure have the same effects of 12 psi from a t3/t4?

Well this is what I know.... a stanard run of the mill t3 turbo flows about around 400-450cfm.... A t3/t04e turbo flows roughly about 850cfm....

Yes psi is psi... but at the SAME psi of your turbo I flow nearly twice what you flow... does that make any sense?

It just means the shaft/compressor wheel has to spin up to a much higher speed to maintain flow, and in turn it loses efficiency (aka it heats the air up more)

The answer is definitely not. Dyno'd a T3/T4 at 22lbs and then switched to 60-1 (w/T4exh) at 22lbs. Picked up close to 100whp that translated to .5 sec decrease in et and plus 10mph quarter mile time. Proved to me that it's not just about lbs of boost but also about flow and temp.

I will be using a t3 with an ar of .60 and it's gated at 15 psi, so I'm wondering ,will my boost gauge register 15 psi (minus the pressure drop from the intercooler) and will my engine be able to handle the 15 psi that this turbo creates?
