Extended Top Hats Question.....SEARCHED
I have Skunk2 pro-s coilovers and I would like to get some exteneded top-hats......Does company make them? And is it true that Ground Control top hats only fit Ground Control set ups? Thanks
why do you think you need extended top hats?
they likely wont work, or do anything beneficial, since the shock body diameter does not fit inside the GC top hat.
and the GC can work with other race springs with 2.5" inner diameter. you can check the diameter of your own springs yourself.

Ground Control top hats only work with Ground control Coilovers.
Parts from the coilovers are reused when using the mounts.

the only part that is possibly reused is the polyurethane spring bumper/collar that helps center the spring to the assembly, and provide a bushing between the spring and the top hat.
its equivalent to the ugly stock rubber bushings under the stock top hats. this however isnt always given anyway with every GC coilover kit. you can use the stock rubber ones, depending if the eibach race spring fits inside or not. or just not use it at all. since all springs are going to be 2.5" ID, the wire thickness can vary depending on the spring rate.

The GC extended top hats come with GC's own urethane upper spring keeper/isolater. So you don't have to use the stock Honda rubber piece.

You don't have to reuse the OEM piece, but the OEM piece doesn't produce the "polyurethane squeak" that the GC one does.
I wish I had stuffed the Honda rubber piece onto the GC upper mount, instead of using what they provided, but thats me.
