How much does a tranny hold. I have about 1.5 quarts if synthetic motor oil in it. I was told the tranny can hold almost another quart.

Its a 91 acura interga tranny on my b16..

 

Regular CRX Tranny = 1.9L on a drain and fill.

i would not suggest synthetic motor oil. use honda MTF. its got the right additives for a transmission an engine oil wouldnt have. and sythetic actually doesnt work well with sycnhros, from what i heard.

either way, just use honda MTF.

 

i was told to use synthetic motor oil. I have about 1.5 quarts in there and need to add a quart sometime my 5th gear gives me problems and thought of that

 

ya tysons right, id use just regular 5w30 over a synthetic, but the honda mtf is the best stuff to put in

 

Why instead of guessing do you not just go buy a bit more than needed, pull the overfull bolt out and top it up to exactly where it should be instead?

 

Go buy 1 qt of penzoil synchromesh 2 gt of regular 10w30 and put all the synchromesh in, then add 1qt of oil, then add half of the other oil.
Now you be shifting with the butterness.

 

yeah if youre gonna put motor oil in it it has to be 10w 30

but 10w 40 is better recommended
