Default psi, horsepower, and engine stress

what up everyone, i turbod my stock d16 3 weeks ago and i'm pretty happy with it, however i feel like i'm not makin the power that i should/can. heres my problem

from like 20-55 in second gear it pulls good, probably takes like 6 seconds. but i timed how long it took to get to 100 and it took a little over 20 seconds, thats slow as hell to me considering ppl that run 14's w/ these cars are passing at like 100+. originally i figured i had like 180 whp .. only got a street tune .. but after the 100mph thing i'm thinkin i may only have like 160 or somethin.

i'm usin a t3 .42/.48 ar and i'm at like 8-9 psi. heres my question. i'm shootin for 200whp, lets say i need to go 12psi on this turbo to get there, then thats 12psi goin into my motor. is that any more stressfull on my engine than if i was using a bigger turbo at 7psi making 200whp? or does the stress of the engine just come down to horsepower? overall i want a decently reliable car, and i feel like the higher i go in psi, the more chance i have of blowin my motor, even w/ 200whp. so id really like to know the answer to this
