Default E85 causes premature wear??

Just finished talking to a shop owner who said that his supercharged '04' Vette was just torn down after running about 14 psi with E85. He had put about 10K miles on it and said it had a pronounced cylinder ridge at the top of the cylinder. (I don't know how many miles were put on the car before the E85 and boost)
He was concerned that the E85 didn't offer much upper cylinder lubrication. He also said that there were some additives that were made to add more lubricity to E85.

Any other experiences with accelerated wear with boost and E85 or teardowns after use that showed normal wear?
Anyone heard of products specifically made to add to E85 for lubrication?

People running methanol at the drags or on bikes should have some experience.
Don't know if this is someone drawing the wrong conclusions or not????????

This isn't a two-stroke; the LSx motors don't rely on the fuel for cylinder lubrication. It sounds like he tuned it badly, and sprayed in so much fuel that he had unburned fuel running down the sides of his cylinders and washing the oil off. You can make that mistake on gasoline just as easily.

I Googled 'E85 wear' and found that one site said they found 3% more wear when vehicles used E85. They did say that when oil with a 'moly' additive was used, there appeared to be no noticiable increase in wear.

id probably consider it more in the tunnign of the car than the actual E85 it self to cause any harm to the motor.... nobody in our area has more tunning experence with E85/E98 than English Racing/RREV motorsports...
