How can you tell when you boosted too much?
what are the differences between running a cylinder lean, or using too much boost? I have a friend that has cracked the ring lands of his pistons...it sounds like too much boost to me. How can you tell you ran a cylinder lean?

running lean and using too much boost is totally different. He probably ran lean causing the motor to detonate cracking the rings. Running a lot of boost won't detonate a motor, having little to no fuel will. As well as running too much timing advance.
