Alternative to HIDs.
Whats the alternative to the hid dilema? Silverstar, PIAA, Lumnics, HIR? I know there is a lot of opinions on both HIDS and OEM halogen. Out of all this what is really better?
HID is better by far, especially with a proper OEM projector retrofit...but yes alternatives that improve stock lighting would be nice too. Better bulbs like Osram Nightbreakers? Using foglights with non-yellow bulbs? Etc.

I liked my HiRs when I had them, but the Nighthawks offered pretty similar performance for very little money comparatively.

Well i picked up a set of the nightbreakers, not bad, its whiter than the stock blubs, and it does shoot farther out so you can see more of the road. IMO i dont think there worh $45.00.

From what I have experienced, no upgrade bulbs are worth the money. On my next car I think I will be going with one of the HID "kits". No retro-fit for me. A couple of reasons are I don't have the money, the headlights in the new car are JDM. Now to just look for a reliable "kit".

WTF 70 dollars, talk about complete trash
Brand new OEM Philips 4300K D2S bulbs go for $70-$80 on eBay, and that's a deal for those.
