Default My ZC turbo 1/4 mile times....

First time out... untuned.

I don't have the time slip here at work, but...

2.37 60' time (The track was slippery as hell)
14.3xx at 98.8 mph

This was a Greddy Kit. My own charge pipes. HKS BOV. Starion hacked intercooler.

I'm not sure of the amount of boost I'm running. I have a gauge, and I know its below 9lbs, and above 6lbs, but honesty, I'm too busy watching the other gauges. I don't care about the boost as long as it stays below 9lbs. I'd guess 7.5lbs to 8.5lbs.

I'm using stock injectors. A 12:1 FMU. A walbro 255lph pump.

This was in a 1991 Civic Si Hatch with a ZC.

Just thought I'd post to get comments from other people with similar setups. It's not lightning fast, but it really comes on strong at the end. I'm happy considering it is untuned and on a minimal fuel system.

not bad. you should get bigger injectors and use something like Hondata to tune it. Then you should be in the mid 13's.

Thats definately good times for the money spent . Its always fun to beat/keep up with someone who spent WAY more than you. Get some slicks and tuning and run 13's.

did the piping not fit the motor? or did u modify them cuz u put in the intercooler? did u portmatch the exhuast manifold? just get some dsm injectors, u can cram them in the 1G turbos are 450cc's versus our 240cc's, the 2Gs have 390 cc's. hook it up with a FPR and the while open it all up...holla
I originally used the piping that came with the kit, but it was a poor fit. Once I added the intercooler, there was no use in trying to make those pipes work. I just went to Jegs and bought a few mandrel U's and cut them to fit. I was even able to use the Greddy Kit's pipe connections except where the pipes meet the intercooler (I used crappy rubber ones there for now since they don't get too hot).

I slightly portmatched, but I will definately do it better once I have some more time.

I have the DSM injectors, but there again, I was short on time and didn't have a chance. I'll make sure I post again once I get a run in with the injectors and a little more boost.

The traction was a big issue. I know the car had more, but the track was soooo slick. I was litterally launching at 1500-2000 rpm, slipping the clutch, and babying the throttle to get 2.3 and 2.4 60 ft times.

Overall, I can't complain. I've put 3 years of racing on the motor prior to the turbo. I shaved about 1 full second off of the previous times before the turbo, and I can tell it has more in it. Now to start tuning it.

Get those injectors in quick!
With a 12:1 disc, and 7 psi you're running over 100 psi of fuel pressure!!
Have you put it on a dyno?
-matt
I know! I know! I'm working on it. I only drive the car to the races just because I have another car.

It hasn't been on the dyno yet. I'll do that once its all done. This was just one of the few Import events in the area, so I figured I'd take it out and give it a try.

Nice times.

Is that with full interior or have you gutted it?

Every time I think I have my mind set on nitrous one of you turbo guys make me lean back towards turbo.

Everytime I hear someone thinking about Nitrous I have to remind them of having to refill the bottle.....it gets expensive.....especially since when you first get it you will most likely empty that bottle in like 3 days.....its a new toy I mean when I got my turbo in I was on it everytime I drove for like two weeks.....try that on nitrous....OUCH.....

Sweet times dude....are you running on stock internals? If not then what have you done? I was thinking about a b18 turbo setup but itll take forever before i can get enought money to get the b18. This ZC turbo idea is starting to sound really good. I have a friend with a 90 civic hb that we put a ZC in and a 50 shot and he ran a 14.3....but hes one of the best drivers i know so that explains alot of it. He had some traction problems too(not to mention that it was 95-100 degrees). Ill give you on that one.

2.37 is pretty good, but still a lil on the slow side, but i know it's cuz of traction, but if you get a 2.1 or maybe a 2.2 60ft. that's probably a shoe in for high 13's without tuning just maybe better tires!! but good job!!!

14.3... I used to run that with my SOHC D16a6 turbo... So.. with the ZC and no traction.. you should be able to get it into 13s easily.

i want to tune your car
Me too!!

The motor is totally stock internals, and it's got about 3 previous years worth of N/A summertime drag racing on it... so its due for a teardown this winter.

I'm using the greddy wastegate, but I'm using a boostvalve.com ball type controller.

I think 13s are on the horizen. I'll probably change the injectors and try again. This was my first time getting used to it with the turbo, so hopefully some practice will go a long way.

Since I'm in Ohio, we need to get as many good runs in as we can before winter hits. This winter is when I'll start really going at the motor and trying to tune it more. I hate to take a car out that really isn't ready, but I couldn't resist having a little fun.

I did toss the pass seat that day mainly because my friend needed somewhere to sit in the shade! I never leave the rear seats in there though. The car has everything else still in it, plastics, sound deadening speakers, radio, sunroof, windows, etc. The car is basically 35% gutted I guess.

Anyway... thanks for the comments. I'll post again if it turns something impressive.

how much did you spend on your swap? because I spent about ~ $2400 for my b16a swap 5 million series which has 170 hp.

my car on street tires in 85 degree weather ran 14.27@99.3 mph with a 2.25 - 60'
on M/T slicks 20x6 on HX Wheels i ran 13.62@99 with a 1.86 - 60'
just want to let you know what your options were.
