Hey guys,

So I've had lots of trouble with this integra, it's an 88... And I just want to get it to start so that I can sell it. Here's the problem:

When putting the key in the ignition and turning on the accessories, everything works fine. Stereo comes on, I can hear the fuel pump priming, lights, gauges, everything.. But when I turn it to ignition, everything shuts off.

Never really seen a bad starter motor do this..but I suppose it could be. The battery is cool, and I've checked all the fuses. What else is there? Could it be the main relay?

Does it even turn over? and does it make a click when you turn it?

 

Check all the grounds. Yes could be main relay. I had this problem happen before. it was the started ground to tranny. maybe this might help http://g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40859

 

Nah man, it just shuts off. doesn't even try to turn over.

I'll read through that thread. thanks. I searched on here.. but everyone has different ways to describe the problem, so it's hard to find.

 

Try jumping the ignition switch.
