Default Error code 41

Does anyone know where I could find a list of error codes for a 1997 honda civic LX. I looked at the code and it gave me a 41 error code. Does anyond know what that code is. Thanks

I think I just found out it is a primary oxygen sensor heater. Does that mean I need a new O2 sensor or is there something else I can do. Thanks

Yes, the primary heating element isn't functioning thus throwing the error code. You can either ignore it like I have for the past 2 years or just get a new one.

The code list here says that

#1 is Oxygen Sensor "A" (Primary)
defective circuit or unplugged/defective sensor
#41 is Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater
Circuit Malfunction

From Obd1 List

I think you could get a new one for either one and fix it ... Someone correct me if i'm wrong on this one

It means the part of the O2 sensor that helps heat it up faster isn't working. A fairly minor nuisance; the rest of the sensor usually works. There are a couple checks Honda has to pinpoint what is wrong but it's usually the sensor.

<FONT COLOR="blue">
Just a few more questions:

1) will this affect fuel economy ?
2) will this affect vtec
3) if I am getting this code, it means my wiring is okay, clip to o2 sensor is fine, BUT just that the internal o2 heater senor is not working correct?
4) which other o2 sensor will work? obd-0 or ob-1 ---------------------or does it have to be ob-2?

Thanks

first of all that code your getting #41 is an ob1 or obd2 code.? 97 should be 2 .. anyway as posted it is the snsr 1 heater circuit.. what this means is that the o2 sensor will take longer to warm up , leaving you in open loop longer which WILL effect fuel economy... will not hurt vtec tho... code 1 is for the oxygen sensor however dot comma for signal fault ...obd 1 sensors have 1 wire and you have 4!!! and henceforth you need to use the proper sensor!!!

hey my Honda CR-V has the error code flagging up BUT I also have a baffle in my cat could that be showing faulty o2 sensor or will it also be a fault with the sensor TIA
