Was the system empty of refrigerant prior to adding more?

Was the system empty because you had a refrigerant leak or because you recovered the old refrigerant and then placed system under a deep vacuum?

There's likely a leak in the system, which means there's air and water in the system. Air and water are very bad to have in the A/C system. Recover the refrigerant and then place system under a deep vacuum for 2 hours. Then add proper WEIGHT of refrigerant with some leak-detecting dye. Locate leak and repair it.

You should probably have a shop do this for you.

The best thing you can do for yourself, even if you take it to an a/c shop, is to learn. Here is an excellent write up of a/c systems https://honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/%2A%2A%2Aair-conditioning-c-guide-how-works-when-doesnt%2A%2A%2A-2900177/..
