Default HELP! b18b1 IDLE PROBLEM.

Hey all, I have a obd1 b18b1 with a b16 tranny in my eg civic. Ever since i put the motor in I have had idle problems. At start up the motor will rev to 2k and drop to 1500 then back to 2k and after like 30 seconds it will mellow out and sit at 800 RPM's. After I drive my car and come to a stop ( shifting into nuetral) the car will stay right at 2200 RPMs and I have to tap the gas in order for it to drop to 800 again. I have cleaned my FITV, IACV, bled the coolant, looked hard for a vacuum leak and even tried tightening my IM and TB. Could this be a valve lash problem, because that is the only thing that I have not done to this motor since i dropped it in. Thank you all for any suggestions and help. Joe. motor has 90k

idle problems usually can be fixed by recalerbrating the tps and adjusting the flat head screw on the tb couter or clockwise untill your idle drops to 900 rpms, try that and reset the ecu and see what happens good luck.

I have the stock TB, OBD-1 motor with a p75 ECU..

If adjusting the TPS stoped your jumping idle then I guess I should try that next, Is it hard to adjust the TPS? You can clean the IACV, thats a good idea if you have an idle problem.. I cleaned mine but nothing changed..I guess im not the only one with this problem. Somebody will chime in with the answer to our problems we will just have to be patient and keep cleaning valves. lol Thanks guys.

i had my buddy help me adjust it but you need a voltmeter to check it. and another person to help. when he did it he checked the volts from the ecu. while i turn the tps. but make sure its in the slot because i didnt the first time and wondered why it didnt work because the ******* who took it off didnt put it back correctly. so if you hear a click! check it again! there should be a manual on team-integra.net or ht. try pulling your wire out of the iacv see if the idle drops at all. if not then yeah you have a bad iacv. its suppose to drop to 100rpm if its still good from what i heard.

IACV is bad, replace it. Sometimes cleaning just won't do it. A surging idle is almost always the IACV fluctuating. I'd also still check the TPS voltage as well.
