Default Oil gauge accuracy?

I have a very cheap (Approx $10) Mechanical Oil Pressure gauge that Im using.

I just installed a brand new engine and was checking the oil pressure because the oil light was coming on

Fully warm this gauge is reading under 5psi and sometimes what looks like 0psi

The car runs fine, no noises, pulls good. Drives great. Would have never known to check had the light not come on.

Could the quality of the gauge be at question? Or the length of the oil filled line?

**EDIT: The pressure reads good while driving. Only reads low at warm idle.

I would replace the cheap gauge first. I had problems with a fuel system in the past that ended up being that the shitty ebay a/f ratio gauge I was using was trash.
