you get what you pay for you would have to solder that **** on and probally [freak] it up then. and if you do get it on there and working yes 8200 is a lil high for a single cam (stock) to be reving.. i dont recommend it at all. save you money and get some real mods like...

a. an engine swap.

b. turbo kit

c. maybe some head work like a port n polish or something.

but dont buy a ebay chip

Hell no, those pieces of **** are a good way to screw alot of stuff up. The only way to mess with the ecu is the right way... a dynotune.

Yeah, my friend bought one just like that. He ended up buying a new ECU. I can't say from personal experience, but he hated it.

he probably ended up buying a new ecu because he did something wrong in the installation?

I wouldn't buy it, they "programmed" it for every car. You won't get the most out of your car. Getting it tuned is the best way.

find a ecu that has been chip already and test it out or buy a ecu with hondata socket so you can replace the chip anytime you want. you have a d15b7 motor dx yes the ecu chip will help better quick trottle reponse and your 1st gear after that nothing. i have a hondata ecu obd1 p75 ecu with mugen non vtec program and i feel better engine reponse but on my car when cold start the engine rev up and down until the engine gets warm the rpm set to normal

if you really want to go this way, why not just get a obd1 p28? you'll throw a check engine light but at least you won't fauck up anything. if i remember right i think the codes were knock sensor, and vtec. you'll feel a little bit of a difference with the p28. and hey just think, if you want to mod or get a set up for vtec you'll be set.
