Default any advantages??

are there any big advantage's to cutting your shifter down shorter??its a stock 4 speed that came in the 1989 honda civic hatchback people been telling me it helps your short throws but idk thank's in advance

no it wont be the same as a short throw. you lengthen the part of the shifter under the pivot point to achieve a short throw shifter.

That would just be the same as gripping further down the shaft, yes I guess the distance you move your hand would be shorter but it would also require a lot more effort because by shortening the lever length you have to use more force to create the same amount of torque. This would probably result in it taking you longer to shift and making your arm tired.(sorry to get all physics-y)
