Default 94CX suspension options

What are your experiences with the different suspensions out there? Mainly gonna use my hatch for a daily driver. Any suggestions?

Same as any other civic. How are the roads out where you live? Will you want to drive fast and practical, or slow and low? It all depends.

A good set of shocks and regular plain jane lowering springs are good for a moderate drop and daily driving. 1.5-2.5" would be good for a modest drop.

For low and slow (with a good ride, the right way), you'll want some purpose-built adjustable shortrod shocks with adjustable coilover springs.

Tell us more about what you want to do, and maybe we can point you in the right direction.

The roads in hawaii pretty much flat. No rough terrain anywhere i drive. Probably low and slow till I get a B16 or something. Thinking of just getting a D16z6 for now to hold me off.

Well, to do it right, slamming on adjustable coilovers can be pricier than just lowering. However, once you have the adjustable coilovers, you can do just that; adjust them to whatever ride height you want.

PIC is a super good brand, though what the guys on this site spring for is the Koni Yellow sport shocks with Ground Control slip over coilovers. The Koni/GC would be the recommended setup for those on a budget. I myself am possibly looking into this to experiment with different ride heights.

I'm presently moderately lowered on GC shocks with Skunk2 springs for ease of maintenance. I have a JDM D15B VTEC.

The ride quality is stiff, the height looks nice, good cornering for an occasional spirited turn, and, I can take speed bumps without having to crabwalk them. Practical and Low-Key I believe is the term for what I have now, but I'd like to make a bit of a bigger splash in the near future.

Can't beat the Koni/Ground Control combo.

Skunk 2 has some nice stuff also if your low on cash.

I'll give those a look. thanks. Not on a tight budget, but I'm not gonna be racing or anything.

I have someone selling me a set of KYB AGX cause he's selling his car. How can I check to make sure the shocks are in good working order?
