well i may be joining the civic group...
Well, it appears as though i'll be joining the civic group. Ive come from a large background of cars. From a stage 2 1.8T jetta, to a 9 second camaro and a lifted toyota on 38s with a turbo grand national motor haha. BUT Im starting college full time now. I need something on the lower end of the price feild, and something reliable. None of my other cars were either of these. I'll be keeping the car until im out of college, and maybe more. As far as plans for it? I dont have much in mind. Its really just a commuter car. I will be doing wheels/suspension, headlight/foglight upgrades and a stereo. Thats about it though for me. NO engine mods (maybe a cai....yes just for sound) Anyway, just saying hello. Looking forward to joining the crew!
Theyre good cars to work on. I like hatches the best. But basically any Civic you go with is great for commuting. Easy to work on, pretty cheap. Theyll put alot of cars to shame as far as MPG. I get 32 city in my 4dr. Good luck.
at what mileage do these cars become problematic? This will be my everyday cra, and i drive a lot. I know hondas are great and reliable..but is there a limit?
My Best friend just sold his 97 civic ex with about 230,000 miles and past smog,
And he drove the **** out of that thing haha

... 9 second Camaro to wanting a CAI on Civic just for sound?
Anyway, you can't go wrong with a Civic as daily beater. I bought mine with 120K miles and it lasted until 140K when I overheated it (there was an existing cooling problem before I got it).
